Best Use: 27 oz. ideal for day hikes, cycling, commuting. A lightweight, durable option to carry liquids throughout the day. Fits in mesh side pockets on packs, most bike cages, and cup holders.

Two features I’m most excited about:

1.) No liner. Single-wall construction makes it safe to boil water in this container.  There is no risk of contaminants from a liner leaching into the water when the bottle is exposed to high heat. Boiling water in a Klean Kanteen can be done regularly, but I think of it more as a survival tool. Water filters, water treatment tablets, and Ultraviolet disinfection are the preferred methods to purify drinking water and they don’t require a fire or stove to do it. But, it feels good knowing that my bottle could be used to boil water if the situation required.

2.) Good looks. Brushed stainless if you are classically classic. Or choose among 9 bright colors inspired by nature.  Mirror finish on the Reflect is pretty pretty, shiny shiny.  Any way you go, this bottle looks great. Smooth corners, slim design, minimalist logo. . . you won’t want to be seen with a hideous plastic bottle again.

One thing I would change: I’m not sure why clean and canteen are spelled with a K. 

Tidbits: Electropolished interior does not retain or impart flavors. What this means: your water will taste like water even if you use the bottle for iced tea, red Kool-aid, chocolate milk . . . bleh, I just imagined what those three would taste like combined. The interior of the Klean Kanteen won’t let that “bleh” happen to you.

Classic available in 18, 27, or 40 oz.  Reflect available in 18 or 27 oz.

Lifetime warranty for performance-based hiccups like leaks or deformed structural components. Dents and scratches from regular use don’t count, but a little rugged character never hurts.

Sum-up:  A functional, reusable, ultra-cool canteen that can be brought along everywhere and will last a very long time. Ditch the plastic! By ditch, I mean place responsibly in a recycling bin. The stainless steel Klean Kanteen is like a hip, eco-conscious best friend. You’ve got to have at least one.
